Keep going. Don't feel like you have a certain amount you have to learn each day, and there is no hurry to learn everything. Take your time. However, you don't want to walk away either, because it is extremely hard to come back afterwards. I should know, that's why I have a month gap in my attendance...

I know it seems hard but when you think about it it's not all that hard I just started and I'm already starting to remember all of these symbols and what sounds they makeit's not an overnight thing it's going take a lot of time but it's so worth it don't give up you got this
Find something that makes learning Japanese enjoyable for you again. If what you are doing now makes learning Japanese feel like a chore, change it.
when i don't want to learn japanese i just watch subbed anime and realize that i would rather learn japanese than read those subtitles. Sometimes subtitles make me miss visual jokes or plot.
don't give up every one has a hard time when they start just keep studying. bye the way don't watch sub anime it wont help you i the future never watch sub becose 50% of the time its the wrong translation. just watch or lisin to pod casts and study the reading you will get good fast- 50% of the time it's the wrong translation? Are you watching bootleg stuff or something from China?
Alot of Anime is translated shoddy. I find glaring mistakes in anything not Fansubbed.
Once production is done, and it's released, they don't want to spend the extra money to pay a team to subtitle it the right way.
Fansubbers donate their own time to do a great job, I find their work far more preferable.- Companies also prefer to not touch anything culturally "un-Western". Oh, foreigners wouldn't get that, don't put that in, instead, have them say something else. But fansubs? I find those are hardly ever wrong. And if there's extra cultural information they think you need to know, they actually link to it or put a little description up in the side.
But if you think that's bad, come see a Western movie in Japan. Things are translated quite literally, which means any sarcasm (in a Western film? NEVER!) is almost completely missed by people who are reading the subtitles. If you manage to come to Japan, though, going to a subtitled movie can be a good exercise. I watched Interstellar in a theatre here, and it actually helped - as the background noises were so loud at one point I couldn't hear what the characters were saying, but I could read it. :P - There are 4 types of Translation:
1. Helpful pointers and accurate translating of actual dialog and many of the signs in the TV show or movie. This is the typical approach of Fansubbers.
2. Western approach to sanitize anything "Culturally Japanese" and replace everything with sappy Western dialog, essentially creating a whole new show from the ashes of the old one. Battle of the Planets and Robotech were good examples of this.
3. Post it on YouTube and claim it's "some crazy Chinese video" I don't even post a "wrong, it's Japanese" comment anymore, these people are idiots.
4. Just pull some wild idea out of your ass and claim that's what's happening on the screen. Those of us that have studied any amount of Japanese can tell that what's claimed to be said, and what is really being said are completely different things.
There may be more types, but these are what I have noticed.
