    "立つです" itself is incorrect. You don't use です after verbs, but use ます instead. Maybe you meant 立ちます?

    It might be possible to use で if you mean something a bit different to 土に立つ, but the meaning definitely isn't the same if you use で particle instead of に. I'm not even totally sure it would make sense using で, but I've gotta log off and go to work. ^^;

    if I may ask, what does 「士に立っ」mean? there is no such expression in my JED dictionary.

    It may be replaced but only if ure reffering at that person as being beneath the ground

    It wd be more correct to say:
    この人は土上(つちじょう)に立ちます(formal) /立ちなの/立ちで/立ちね(informal)
