I don't think "学術的" is one of the Practice questions? 学術 is though.
I've thought about the differences before. The following isn't accurate information but is just how I view the differences. I don't really even know how I came to think this. It may be completely wrong...
科学 (かがく) = science -- the sciences, the various branches of science.
・科 (か) = department, faculty, school; branch of study, specialisation.
・学 (がく) = learning, scholarship, erudition, knowledge.
学術 (がくじゅつ) = science -- academic study, art of learning, scholarships.
・術 (じゅつ) = art, technique, skill.
Also, "scientist" = 科学者 (かがくしゃ), not something like 学術 + 者. Looking at how the terms are used within other compound words is helpful for figuring out how the those two may have different meanings.
科学技術 (かがくぎじゅつ) = "scientific technique; science and technology"
Just my opinions as a learner though. I could even be completely wrong about there being a difference. ^^;- Also, although you wrote 学術的, there are these other words within Practice which might be helpful towards solving your question:
科学的 (かがくてき) = "scientific"
非科学的 (ひかがくてき) = "unscientific"

My J-J dictionary does not have it listed, but 学術用語 is, which is vocabulary specific to a branch or specialty of study. Will look more after my morning coffee. 五月病ではない、私が月曜病を苦しむ。。。- There wasn't an entry for 学術的 in the first few dictionaries I checked either. However I've found it now on Weblio:

@Arachkid, I didn't know about 五月病 before. I was wondering why it isn't 四月病? but I've now already looked that up also and found out that means something different...
Does this therefore mean Monday should be euphoric and Tuesday should be when the blues kick in? So 月曜病 = you experience a feeling of euphoria at the start of the week when heading back to work? :P - Oh great, none of the links worked. But this is cool!
It looks like the reason the links didn't work is because Beeant has modified JCJP to make it easier to post website addresses containing Japanese and other symbols. I don't need to do my weird hacks to make it work anymore! So hopefully it should work this time... ^^
