I've been here for almost two months now (yay) but I still haven't got to chapter two in the lessons yet, I guess I'm just a slow learner. Does anybody have any tips?

Is this the only medium your using for studying Japanese? If so, I recommend using a mix of other sources as well. These can include books like the Genki series and other websites like Memrise (I recommend the JLPT Bootcamp courses and Genki-related courses there).

I do use other resources for studying, but it mainly focuses on how to use words properly. I'll try Memrise as well.

What I do for vocab is I memorize 1 lesson everyday and review the last 3 or 4 lessons that I learned. sometimes I'll review everything and sometimes just one chapter but I always memorize at least 1 lesson a day and review the lesson from the day before.
My advice will sound useless, but here it is: Perseverance.
When you first get started, you have all this energy and drive, and you start studying, and as time drags on, and you don't make the headway you expect, it's easy to feel like giving up, and moving on. I see alot of people do exactly that.
I have been studying off and on for a few years now, and don't have nearly the headway I would have expected, or as much as I want, but I still put my head in the game and put an effort towards the end goal.
