こんいちは。 I am relatively new to this site, and I think this only teaches kanji, but hey, that is exciting and I am ready to learn some kanji! BRING IT ON!! I was a little nervous when I first saw this site (more accurately, I was overwhelmed), but now I am starting to get used to its functionality. This is a great site so far, and I hope I can meet new friends along the way who want to help with our studies as time goes on. よろしくお願いします。

    Welcome to the site. ^^

@Kenji, I think brooke was making a joke that second time (or at least, now I've said that, I hope that's what happened)... :D

Brooke, if you are using Japanese IME on Windows, actually double n will be converted to an ん. So you type gomennnasai for ごめんなさい. Although I'm sure you will realize that soon! (or already).

Or just switch from romaji input to kana input and learn which keys are for typing which kana. Death to romaji! ^_^

I don't seriously recommend doing that though. Romaji input mode is by far the more commonly used way, even in Japan. However it's just how I type and I like it. On my UK English keyboard, using kana input mode, I just press the Y key to write the ん kana.

To write the five kana symbols, こんにちは:
・with kana layout = five keys: BYIAF
・with romaji layout = ten keys: KONNNITIHA. Although many people probably press eleven keys: KONNNICHIHA

I'm using kana input too. With hand-written sticker haha. And typing slower than a kid. That damn ろ always missing xD

Ah, that's cool. I never used stickers to learn it. The main way I got better at using it was through playing Slime Forest Adventure, which has a separate game mode for teaching kana input layout.

I've been using kana layout for a couple of years now and can type Japanese just as fast as romaji layout.

Is your ろ key to the left of the number 1 key (below the Escape key)? That's where it is on UK keyboards and it is annoying. On Japanese keyboards it is between the /? key and the right Shift key. Luckily ろ is not used too often anyway. :)

ようこそ! I'm kinda new myself, but found this site not only teaches Kanji, but helps push me into using new vocabulary as well as reinforces language too :3 よろしくお願いします!!
