Hey, everyone. Could you help me? I've been studying (struggling) kanji for a while with this site and anki, but I dunno what other tools I could use to improve my study. Could you recommend me any? Also, I'd like to start studying grammar, sentence construction and all that stuff, but I don't know where to start. I'd be reeeeeally happy if someone could help me (:

If you don't mind putting in some "hard work" then I recommend getting Heisig's Remember the Kanji (RTK) 1+3 for Anki and do about 10-15 new kanji every day and 50-100 reviews. Do it both backwards and forwards (i.e. kanji->meaning/reading and meaning/reading->kanji). Just remember to memorize at least one reading for each and not just the meaning. And write every kanji down as you go through the deck. Every kanji. Every time (you should see my notebook). The muscle memory and stroke order really helps you memorize the meaning and reading of the kanji. It can be confusing at times, some words/kanji are downright weird, and sometimes it takes several tries/days before you get a difficult kanji down, but it's worth it. I've been doing this for a few months now and I'm approaching 1800 kanji. I can't say I know them _all_ by heart but damn me if I'm not close.
I was inspired to do this after reading http://japaneseruleof7.com/how-to-learn-kanji/
