- it's quiet easy...In Japanese writing,you can't combine 2 consonant..Like K+y or t+s(well,except for several circumstances..)So it's consonant+vowel...There's also several consonant that doesn't exist in Japanese writing system,like V,W,X,so on,so you need to exchange it with character(consonant+vowel called character)that have similar pronunciation.
So in case you want to write your name with two combined consonant or un-exist character, you need extra practice. If there is 2 or more combined consonant, you need to use consonant+u character(the u pronounced as weak e),well,to the closest pronunciation.
example:
-Smith:ス(su)ーミ(mi)ーツ(tu)
if you have un-exist character, you can use the the character+small ya/yu/yo/other character(other character options is for katakana only) to substitute it...
example:
Ju(it's not exist,only ji exist)=じゅ(ji+small yu).The Y is unread
if you want to double 2 same consonant, you can use small tsu(つ)
like:
Minna:み(mi)+っ(small tsu)+な(na)
For example to write name:(non-japanese word USE katakana not hiragana)
Silvi(mine ^^):シ(shi)+ウィ(U with small i read ui,or similiar to vi or wi)
ANNa Flynn:ア(a)+ン(n)+ッ(small tsu)+ナ(na) フ(fu)+リ(ri)+ン(n.You don't need to double this last n because single or double n,it's still read as n)
Remember,write as it read,not spelled.Is it helping?September 30, 2015 at 10:29pm - thank you silvi... it's helping... how to write ''naila muna'' in katana???September 30, 2015 at 11:03pm
