how long should I spend on one lesson? I have a tendency to rush though 3 lessons in a row and I end up forgetting a lot. Also when I take tests do you think that it's a good idea to look at my vocabulary I wrote down?

What I do is I tend to go through 3 or 4 lessons a day, but then the next day I review the same lessons again so that I can slowly start to get them into my head. I don't know if this will be helpful for you, but that is what I do. Also I tend to look at my vocab the first time I take a test, but then I do the test again right after without my notes. These are my methods so they might not work for you, but they have been really useful to me ^.^

It's not bad to rush as long as you practice frequently. Just try to study by looking at the meaning of a kanji and/or where it comes from or what radicals it uses. Don't memorize them just to memorize because you'll eventually forget them if you don't relate them to something in your head (it's what happens to me lol). Keep studying hard!

In Russian we have a proverb "Repetiotion is a mother of knowledge" which means practice makes perfect. So, it's ok to go through 3 lessons a day if you feel that 1 lesson is not enough. But you should go back to them on the next day. And again. And again))
