Sounds, さんひゃく Sounds odd and harsh. Where as さんびゃくrolls of has a softer more pleasant sound. Same with ろっぴゃく & はっぴゃくMay 22, 2016 at 9:49pm

Usually on the 3rd, 6th, 8th and sometimes the 10th count of something there will be irregularities. 300 is read さんびゃく like mentioned above, 600 is read as ろっぴゃく, 800 is read as はっぴゃく and for all the remaining ones you simply add ひゃく after 2, 4, 5, 7 and 9. F.e. 200 is read as にひゃく and so on.May 23, 2016 at 1:28pm
