To be fair, it's not like the time that the site changes day is mentioned anywhere.
Also, I think it's more confusing for people round your side of the globe. Here in the UK our time zone is GMT+0 (obviously, as Greenwich is in London). It's easier for time zones in the middle as this makes it is easy to remember which countries are ahead in the day and which are behind. 9~8 hours behind Japan, and 8 hours ahead of you.
In your timezone it must be easy to forget that your time difference with Japan is not 7~8 hours but rather that it is actually 17~16 hours. The only part of the day that you are on the same day as Japan is between 00:00 and 06:59 PST (07:59 PDT). And you are likely to be asleep for the majority of that part of the day, not noticing this has even happened. (Just seems like you are always on the same day as eachother. You wake up and it just seems like you and Japan are now both on a new day, without it being so noticiable that you and Japan aren't both on the same day of the week.)
So I think it's probably easier for me to remember about how the days on this site work, as it's not so easy for you to notice it. ^^
