I'm told Kanji should be the first thing learnt... So i'm basically copying everything into a book, is this right? Oh and I'm completely new to this by the way!

    hello PotatoGirl.its kinda weird btw to call you by your username.lol
    but i think everyone have their own way to learn somethin...
    as for me i try to look for the kanji lyric as i listen to the song to help me remember kanji that i have learn and also raising the probability to remember a new one...but i think by doing a practice session would help you a lot at the first time.

    Have you already learned hiragana and katakana? It's beneficial to have learned those before memorizing the readings for kanji because the readings for kanji are pretty much always shown in hiragana and katakana. The reason for that is hiragana and katakana are both phonetic alphabets so it helps get the proper pronunciation across.
