I was a college teacher and then a software developer; now I look after pets while their humans are away and occasionally help with Japanese to English translation checking.

I learned to fold origami animals and play go when I was a child, and I have been fascinated by Japanese culture ever since. I started learning the language many years ago, and can read and write to some extent, but I can't even begin to hold a conversation in Japanese. I watch a lot of anime, hoping that some day I will be able to understand more than occasional isolated phrases.
