Mogoyayubi

I made this sub-account the day I bought my new keyboard, a Japanese 親指シフト (thumb shift) keyboard. On this account I'm typing answers using this complicated kana layout to learn to touchtype it. Here's what the keyboard looks like:

Before this keyboard, for the past 4 years I've always typed Japanese using regular JIS kana layout. Below is a picture of the old keyboard I was using for it, which is just a normal English (UK) keyboard with no Japanese symbols on the keys. Razer Tarantula gaming keyboard:

...And before all that I typed Japanese characters using romaji input mode......like normal sensible people!!

I preferred JIS kana layout to romaji layout, and never regretted switching to it, being able to touchtype Japanese just as fast in either. Whether thumb-shift kana input actually turns out to be an improvement on normal kana layout, I have no idea yet! The only thing I can say for sure so far is that it is crazy hard to use, even more so than it looks!! XD
