If I wanted to ask: Whose bag is this.. Could I ask in this form/sequence:
ぼうしはどれのですか, and why not xD .. Does this sentence even mean anything, or should I always refer to a noun AFTER 'doreno' like in other ~no cases (kono, sono,...)?

You don't have to always refer to a noun after "dare no". It is fine if the noun is before 'は' but if there is no "は', then I think you need to have the noun after "dare no" (and I think it's dare and not dore, at least that is how I learned it :P ).

I believe you could ask like this as well: "この帽子は誰の帽子ですか" what would something like "this hat is whose hat?" but I'm pretty sure people would understand.
