こんにちは!

As a level 5 student in this website, were you able to write, or communicate, in japanese a lot by now? like, say, writing a paragraph, will that be easy for you by now?
And, do you manage to remember the kanji very well till you can write some of them by hand?
Sorry for my curiosity, but I am very interested to hear about and learn japanese from a non-japanese speaker that have experience learning japanese more than i do.
ありがとうございます、barusamikosu.

    こんにちは!

Right now, output is still pretty difficult. It's easier to understand what others write than it is to come up with anything myself. Hopefully more input and participation in Japanese chat rooms will help with that.

As for Kanji, it's pretty easy to handle nowadays. After finishing RTK 1, I've been able to recognize and write a lot of Kanji--even the ones I haven't learned readings/words for yet!

Just for perspective, I've been studying for 5 months (close to 6) and I still consider myself very much a beginner.

If I would offer any advice, it would only be to make sure that you're making contact with Japanese daily. The study methods themselves aren't as important as finding something that you can do every day.

I see. When you mention about contact with japanese daily, do you mean that you communicate with your japanese friends, or online friends, with the japanese words you know mix with english?

If that's so, then what you suggest me previously might not be that hard for me neither then.

And, i wrote this because i happen to have lots of japanese in the spanish institute i go to this time. But, at the same time, quite nervous how can i start to learn japanese, at least a bit, from them. What say you about this?

Sorry for being unclear there! By contact I meant just seeing and hearing the language. If there are Japanese people at your school, though, then that sounds like a good opportunity! I'm afraid I don't have any personal experience with making Japanese friends yet. Maybe they'd be interested in language exchange, or just make friends with them and go from there.

    こんにちは、ばるさみじょす!
ありがとございます for your suggestion about befriend with them. Last month, which was the first month I met them, I was quite nervous. So, now, I end up being friends with a local in the class who happen to spend most of his life in Japan (so, he can speak Japanese better than Spanish). Anyway, thank you very much. Hope both of us will get better with our japanese as we progress.

ありがとうございます、for your suggestion/encouragement in having me befriending with them. I had class with them since last month, but back then, i was quite nervous. But slowly, i end up befriending with one of them. Well, he is a local who happen to spend like 90% of his life in Japan alone. From there, well I didn't talk in japanese with him since I only know few words to begin with. But i did ask him some questions about japanese. Anyway, thanks for your suggestions there, barusamijosu-chan. Hope we got better in our japanese as we continue learning.

Not a problem! I'm glad that things are working out for you. I know how you feel now, since a native Japanese person at my job found out I was learning, and told me I could speak with her any time I wanted. The thought of actually going through with it makes me incredibly nervous, but as they say, sometimes the only way around an issue is to go right through it! Let's keep working and improving! がんばって!
