- because I think it's better to move on to next readings. 1 reading is considered as 1 achievements. There is no clear reasons though. Is it better to make it like Chapter Tests?May 8, 2014 at 6:38pm
- it makes sence what you, i was just wondering :)May 8, 2014 at 6:46pm
- It's just my thought though. What do you think? should it be like Chapter Test, where you can keep on redoing the quiz?May 8, 2014 at 6:51pm
- I haven't gotten that far so I can't give my personal opinion, but maybe you could implement that as beta and see what other people think.May 9, 2014 at 1:50pm
- One thing that isn't so nice about 'one time' reading quizzes, is that if you get a word word wrong, then you can't easily clear those 'weak' words from your profile (red coloured part of the 'Readings Learned' bar).
This makes it feel slightly awkward when doing Readings instead of Practice, as it may feel like you have to be really careful not to make even a single mistake. If we could retake the reading quizzes, or if it was made a bit more like the endless Notes quizzes, then this problem should go away?May 9, 2014 at 2:44pm - @wahaj, you can use reading feature now. It's on the left main menu :)
@mog76uk, thank you for your opinion. Don't you think that "being careful" element is actually a good thing too? and in order to fix the weak list you need to find those words in other readings.
I think this restriction can be good to make it more challenging, and motivating. more like a game...May 9, 2014 at 4:29pm - I agree with beeant. It is better to move on to the next reading. I think we shouldn't worry about being perfect and having some weak words. I admit that I like to get 100 on every quiz though! Might there be a way to create a search for articles that contain our weak words?May 9, 2014 at 7:37pm
- I do think that it is a good thing too, but I meant it more like it makes Readings quizzes more awkward than casually doing Practice, and it's one of the reasons I don't do Readings as often.
Another part to this is that the meanings of the words in the quiz don't always match the meanings of the words in the articles. Also, having incorrect reading furigana in the articles, almost makes reading the articles harder than having no furigana, and this confuses things when you see a different reading in the quiz.
But I also do think it's best to only be able to do the Readings quizzes once, and then move onto another article, instead of continually repeating the same one. To help with clearing 'weak' words, adkdcmorgan's search idea sounds like a good solution. ^^May 10, 2014 at 12:10am
