It's a good idea to give up then. There's not really a practical payoff vs. the amount of time you have to put in.
I was going to add to this by mentioning the fact that you're 108 years old and about the likely payoff... If you're actually 8 years old, that's really awesome, although I think 108 years old and starting to learn Japanese would be even more awesome! :D
Japanese frustrating? Constantly. Hate japanese not really ever.
It's good that you are getting frustrated. It means your working hard, it's like going to school and taking a exam. You fail and get disappointed, but you will always have that moment / feeling to try again and pass. :)
