No problem. I thought about giving a second donation a while back but I wasn't sure if it would be awkward somehow if I donated twice.
No real need to thank either though, as you spend a lot of your free time working on this site for the benefit of other people, and yet it still seems like you yourself are having to pay quite a lot to keep the site up (much more than donations have covered)?
I often think about what it would be like if every user decided to donate just one single dollar -- that would easily cover server costs and afford for the site to be hosted on a pretty awesome server!
It is very nice that you're committed to JCJP always staying free. At the same time though, because you don't get much in donations, having to keep server cost lower means you're having to be careful about adding new features that might cause the current server to struggle under heavy load. Also doesn't seem like it's very 'free' at all for the person doing all the work?... :)
One single dollar from each user would be about $50,000. This would afford server and development costs for about 1-2 years. and even more, I would be able to commit more in JapaneseClass.jp development. JCJP would be able to hire people, such as illustrators, planners, translators, and also people like you who takes care of JapaneseClass.jp. With these additional resources of talents, JapaneseClass.jp can be more like a game, and of course with more quantity & quality contents. The progress would be more speedy too.
During that 1-2 years, JapaneseClass.jp would be so much different I think. It would be closer to what we imagine to be an ideal fun place of Japanese learning application.
