    いい昼?

@demonhead That sounds closer to 'good noon' or 'good middle of the day' rather than 'good afternoon'. いい午後 maybe? however it's still not ever gonna be used as a greeting.

If a Japanese felt like being a bit funny and weird with their greetings, then I recon my first answer potentially would be used for this. Although I found it written as「グッドアフターヌーン」in a dictionary, I think「グッドアフタヌーン」spelling might be preffered--depends how you want it to sound really. :P

I'm guessing you meant to say that good evening is 'konbanwa'?

Konnichiwa isn't really 'hello'. You can say 'hello' perfectly fine at any time of the day or night, but I think you would sound very strange saying 'konnichiwa' late at night or early in the morning.

Konnichiwa literally just means 'today' (now + day). When it is said to someone as a greeting, that person understands it as something like 'good day'. Konnichiwa definitely doesn't specifically mean 'good afternoon', however the afternoon is the main time you say it.

In the morning you say 'ohayou' or 'ohayou gozaimasu' but only up to a certain time. For example: If it is 11:30 am, then it is now definitely too late to say 'ohayou' anymore, so you say 'konnichiwa'. 11:30 am is not in the afternoon.

When the sun is going down or it is night time, then it is weird to say 'good day' to people in English speaking countries, and I believe it is the same in Japan with 'konnichiwa'. ^^

The internet doesn't have days and nights, or mornings and evenings; the internet never sleeps--the sun never sets in it. I guess on the internet 'konnichiwa' is probably perfectly fine at any time of the day or night? :P

    こんにちは - konnichiha ? ha-は wa-わ? :) ahhahaha

こんにちは is actually the shortened version of a longer sentence, so that は is a particle, which is pronounced わ
