- hiragana, then katakana, THEN lesson 1 vocabulary and kanji, then lesson 2 vocabulary and kanji.
I wouldn't say it matters much which way around you decide to do vocabulary and kanji, just that it's probably best to do both for each lesson number before moving onto the next lesson number. Focusing too heavily on one while neglecting the other is probably not a good idea, but whatever you decide, have fun. :)September 30, 2014 at 9:35am - Also how do u translate hiragana and katakani into English?October 1, 2014 at 5:22am
- Answering your first question, after learning hiragana & katakana, I'd go for kanji & vocabulary, in that order. That way, as you learn and practice vocabulary, you will also be reinforcing your kanji knowledge as well, which I think optimizes your efforts.
But you don't "translate hiragana / katakana" to English... they are alphabets, and have no meaning. You can translate japanese words and sentences (in kana and/or kanji) with an online or offline dictionary, Google Translator and others, but that's not something you can always do directly since Japanese depends a lot on context.October 3, 2014 at 12:04am
