- Cool! Congratulations. I check the Rankings page on a daily basis. :) As you probably noticed recently, I dropped one rank (overall) because @terriz passed me a few months ago. Once Level 7 is added to JCJP, I will try to pass this user, even though this person is way ahead of me.December 22, 2014 at 4:15am
- Also, I added links to my Facebook and Youtube pages in my JCJP profile. You can send IMs or PMs there.December 22, 2014 at 4:18am
- Heh. Yeah I noticed that. I think I remember you saying you can no longer earn EXP on any of the Practice/Lesson questions, as they've all reached 29+ times answered correctly?
I can now only earn EXP on Level 5 Vocabulary and Level 4-6 Kanji (pretty much what my lesson progress shows, as I stopped doing any tests which still have questions below 29 times answered correct...)
I'm not 100% sure but I think I still have enough questions left that I can overtake you, eventually. :P
Maybe when level 7 is added it will finally be possible to for someone to dethrone Medyrius and take his #1 position at last! ^^December 22, 2014 at 4:31am - Yes. I correctly answered every kanji and vocabulary item at least 29 times each. I am sure you made less mistakes than I did, so you shiuld easily pass me. Also, once Level 7 is added, Medyrius will extend his lead. Therefore, it is very unlikely anyone can pass him, but good luck!December 22, 2014 at 4:49am

- Level 7???? NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!December 22, 2014 at 5:17am
- I actually made a LOT of mistakes when I started on JCJP. I checked quite a number of high ranking profiles on the previous version of JCJP just before the version update... I was rank 35 and had made something like the third highest number of mistakes on the site at the time!
I kind of miss all the extra stats we had on previous JCJP. You could see things like total number of questions answered, total number of questions correct/incorrect, etc. The grade stats were nice too (although calculated in a very harsh way if you ever wanted to reach A+).
I noticed Medyrius was on JCJP the other week and that he gained a whole 75 EXP. Nice to know he checks in occasionally, so if someone ever does manage the impossible and pass him, he will know about it to defend his title. :)December 22, 2014 at 5:19am - @Kenji hahaha! Don't worry, level 7 has been talked about for a long time and there's no indication that it's coming any time soon. You might have completed level 6 by that time. :)December 22, 2014 at 5:22am
- Congrat! I managed to reach the 9th position a long time ago but now I'm slowly falling back, I can't access the website anymore without a computer, I really miss this website. 頑張って!December 22, 2014 at 6:15am
- Hey Annick. :)
I remember passing you only a few weeks ago. I think you were in 10th by that time. I noticed you hadn't been on in a while. You aren't able to get onto the site using something else like your phone? Hope you are still keeping up studying Japanese every day, even without a computer to learn on. ^^December 22, 2014 at 7:54am - @mog86uk @Annick Even an iPod Touch or an iPad, etc. will work too, as long as you have a compatible browser like IE, Safari, Chrome or Firefox.December 22, 2014 at 12:35pm
- It's amazing how much exp you guys have 0_0. It's going to take anyone a long time to reach even the first page on rankings let alone the top 10.December 22, 2014 at 4:33pm
- Congrats! 5M to go to catch up to you! :DDecember 22, 2014 at 6:09pm
- I don't have a phone, I tried with DS3 and Xbox but it's not working, I'm studying on Kanjibox meanwhile. "@MintyHippo, it took me a year to be in the top 10 (I used to be in the top 10), If I had been wiser like Mog86uk, I wouldn't have wasted my points and would probably still going on. Once I get a new computer and a new level is added it will be a fight to the death for the first place my friends ;)December 23, 2014 at 7:01am
- @MintyHippo
Apparently you earned 1.1 million EXP last month, according to the User of the month rankings for November. If you carry on at that rate, it's not going to take you very long at all! :P
Although I also noticed you earned quarter of a million EXP in a single day with 4,321 questions?! o.O
@woeaih4 Haha. Best of luck with catching up. If you can do 14k EXP every day you'll have caught up within less than a year. :)
@Annick
Did you mean PS3? The PS3 browser actually works reasonably well for JCJP (by that laggy slow browser's standards anyway). I checked the PS3 a little when we were testing Beta JCJP and it wasn't too bad back then. I tried on PS3 again today and it seems like either the browser improved in a version update or the site has improved.
Literally everything in JCJP works on the PS3 browser except for two things:
・When browsing user profile pages, the main part of the page does not load. Only the side bar loads (with the picture, country flag, etc.).
・Sounds do not play at all, anywhere on the site.
The only other problems are:
・You cannot log in if the screensize shows JCJP in mobile view layout, as the username and password textboxes are not visible. So just need to make sure to maximise the view when trying to log in (settings -> view -> "maximum size"), but can change back once logged in.
・The special shaped icons do not display properly -- the icons on the navigation bar, the sound/dictionary icons, and the icons on mobile view in the top corners of the window.
・You can't type Japanese characters, obviously, as English PS3's don't have a setting for it. The only work around is to open another window to copy-paste from a site that turns romaji into Japanese characters or from a dictionary website.
Other than those problems, EVERYTHING should work. But to make the PS3 browser work even better:
・Make sure to use a network cable instead of WiFi, if possible. The browser just generally works a lot faster on wired from my experience.
・Once logged in, use mobile instead of full view, by making the window smaller and lowering the resolution. The bar on the right hand side often makes things a little more laggy. If you want to use full size view, it does actually work pretty well still.
・If you're only viewing Lessons, Notes and Readings, turn Javascript off and the pages will load lightning fast! However the rest of the site relies on Javascript so will need to turn it back on before clicking the "Quiz" button.
If you didn't mean PS3, then, well... bleh. XDDecember 23, 2014 at 9:37am - I'm only going for 10k a day now not 25+ like I was last month. Although I'll probably spend almost the whole day here at the end of the month like last time ^^ hopefully I can get about 200k again.December 23, 2014 at 1:30pm
- @Mog86uk no, Nintendo DS3 ...bleh lol I can log in and see the scores of the day but there is no memory enough for anything else. (right now I'm using my sister in law computer...)
@MintyHippo , plenty of users reached the first page in a very short time, like Kekkou for instance ;) I think the fastest I've seen was less than 3 monthsDecember 24, 2014 at 4:05am - Oops, haha. I even did a search to check whether DS3 meant anything other than "Dual-Shock 3" (the name for Playstation 3 controllers), but none of the other things I found seemed likely... I've never heard of a DS model described as DS3. I still wasn't sure about it being PS3 though, as I thought it would be a strange typo hitting D instead of P.
Anyway, even knowing I was likely to be guessing wrong, I still thought this info could be interesting to other random people who might read it. Always useful to know of a backup for when your PC randomly dies and you desperately wanna do some JCJP. My PS3 has come to the rescue in this situation for me before. ^^December 24, 2014 at 11:32am - Doh I meant 3DS! :p *confused*December 24, 2014 at 12:11pm
- PS3 was too expensive for me then OTL...but someone just lent me their laptop! Back to my addiction!December 24, 2014 at 12:17pm
