can some knowledge full person tell me about the kanji for yome (wife) 嫁 · 娵 · 婦 · 媳. i assume the first one is most common. whenever i come across something like this it usually means there are different kanji for different situations

My Japanese wife prefers me to use 妻 (tsuma) when referring to her. When talking about other people's wives, using 奥さん (okusan) is preferred.
I've seen in use mostly 嫁 and 妻.
