Really good post :) I think I'll keep the link and post it whenever someone asks about this (which is basically everyday xD).
But I do feel that you should have mentioned that is better to watch with japanese subtitles. I've been doing this, and I think it's great (even if it gets a little confusing sometimes), because it forces you to read and try to understand the grammar.

Well, it takes a little bit of work (and you have to be a pirate :p). First you have to download RAW episodes, or ones that are not hardsubbed. Then you go this site: http://kitsunekko.net/. They have japanese subtitles for many anime. And sometimes you'll have to adjust the subtitles manually (because of timing). If that's the case, you can edit them with Aegisub. But in the end it's worth it :)
