Here's some more interesting facts.
・All the lv7 new 100 kanji added in the kanji lesson pages are from Jouyou grades 2, 3 and 4.
・Before lv7 kanji were added, the only Jouyou grade JCJP taught all the kanji for was grades 1 and 3.
・The lv7 kanji have now filled in all the missing kanji for grades 2. So JCJP teaches all grade 1-3 kanji now.
・The lv7 kanji that belong to grade 4 fill in many of the gaps for that grade too, so JCJP now teaches most of grade 4 kanji. We're getting close to the 1,006 Kyouiku kanji within the Jouyou list.
More precisely:
grade 1 = 80 / 80 (no change)
grade 2 = 160 / 160 (136 previously)
grade 3 = 200 / 200 (no change)
grade 4 = 164 / 200 (88 previously)
grade 5 = 57 / 185 (no change)
grade 6 = 29 / 181 (no change)
-- total Kyouiku kanji taught = 690 / 1,006 (590 previously)
Now that level 7 is released, I should probably update my old forum thread where I previously counted all the kanji in levels 1-6 and their Jouyou and JLPT totals...
