So I spent most of today upgrading from Windows 7 (actually a duplicate copy I installed on another drive) to Windows 10 (afterwards doing a clean install of Winddows 10, not upgrading from anything, and deleted the upgraded version--completely for free). Now I'm triple booting with 10, 7 and XP. ^^

Anyway... There's something I want to ask: How on earth do you guys who have Windows 10 (or 8.1) put up with this crazy font!??

I guess it's not quite so bad on Edge / Internet Explorer, but on Chrome the font looks awful at this font weight... On Windows 7 (8?) and below, we don't have this "Yu Gothic" font, but on Windows 8.1 onwards this font is included. Yu Gothic is used instead of Meiryo if you have it installed, and it looks like this (Chrome = top left and the Chat window)...

Compare that with what it looks like immediately after I uninstall the Yu Gothic font, where all four browsers now have switched back to using Meiryo font:

Yu Gothic is a very cool font normally, but the current way it is used just doesn't display very clearly at all when compared to Meiryo or Verdana. I'm surprised I haven't noticed anyone else mention having problems with reading it. o.O

    Hmm. That Snaggy site saved the pictures in pretty low quality. :|

    thank you very much for showing me the screenshot!
    Now I can see why there are a lot of users complaining about the font! >.<
    Those tiny thinny font indeed look awful! I just remove YuGothic. How does it look now? I don't have windows PC to test.. >,<

    Sorry, I went to bed immediately after typing that post. Yeah, it's back to Meiryo now. I was wondering why the Verdana font was removed anyway though? Was it an intentional change to now use it for both English and Japanese?

    The font actually looked worse on my screen than it does in that screenshot, because the low image quality makes it look like the font was darker and heavier than it actually was. It was extremely thinny and whispy.

    Yu Gothic actually looked pretty decent when I adjusted the weight of the font. Chrome was using "Yu Gothic Light" for some of the text (Chat messages), which was really hard to read. Other parts of the site were in regular "Yu Gothic", which was still not easy to read. But it did look pretty nice at larger font sizes, especially after I changed it to "Yu Gothic Medium". But it's probably safer to stick with Meiryo.

    (Not sure that question was very clear the way I had written it.)

    There are still several parts of the site using Yu Gothic Light (because it is still listed in certain styles like h1,h2,h3,h4). The usernames and timestamps in Chat; titles on many pages; some of the text in the Topics section,... Some of it doesn't look too terrible, but it is very weird on the Chat page where it is used for text that is only in English. ^^;
