Hello everyone ヽ(´ー`)人(´∇`)人(`Д´)ノ

I'm new here heh. I grew up speaking both English and Chinese so I know the meanings for many kanji...It's just that I get really confused with the meanings when they differ from the Han characters and I have to constantly switch between the Chinese mindset and Japanese :// pronunciation isn't that much of a hassle though, it's just the constant need to learn double meanings for the same characters :((

Haha, I feel you! I've been taking Chinese at school for 3 years, and I always confused Hanzi with Kanji readings. Sometimes I find myself pronouncing Japanese words in Chinese class, or speaking Chinese while studying Japanese, regardless of whether or not the characters even have the same meaning or not..
We can do this together! 頑張りましょうぜ!(•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑

I don't know if it is related to what you sid but in Portuguese (my native language) "notebook" is used to refer to a laptop (don't ask me why), so I have to change it while speaking English, lol.

@Darwo: Notebook is the international term for a small, light Laptop that you can easily put in your briefcase or backpack -> Notebook size.
@paralympian: I already get confused with the Japanese readings only...
Having to know the Chinese ones too and then differ them at the right time sounds very difficult, if not impossible to me. Good Luck!!!
