  was it matte, not mete?? cause matte is wait, hito = person then warukatta is it is bad (something like that? loosely??)

  Nope, it was definitely starting with hi...he sort of stuttered maybe that's why his enunciation wasn't too clear :/ I think it was most probably hitto matte warukatta, haha THANKSS!! :))

  遅くなって、悪かった。(Osokkunatte, warukkata). Or "I was/am late that's bad". It doesn't translate well directly into english. Alot of Japanese is like that. So the best english translation would be something like "Im sorry for being late." link the anime mabye that will help.

  Was probably this: 引き止めて悪かった (hikitomete warukatta)
  
  I've never heard it before, and don't know if it's a normal expression, but I reckon it should probably makes sense.
  
  引き止める (hikitomeru) can be used to mean "prevent somebody from leaving"

  悪かった = was bad
  
  So I can see how 引き止めて悪かった would make sense for meaning "Sorry for keeping you." (It was bad of me to prevent you from leaving.)
