- Learn and understand the radicals + SRS (Spaced Repetition System). But it is what works for me, maybe you or someone else would find another way easier, it is better if you test different methods to find yours.November 27, 2015 at 6:25pm
- learning the radicals with kanjidamage.com and playing in this pageNovember 28, 2015 at 1:56pm
- The radicals are certainly important, but there are other graphemes (parts of kanji) which appear in more than one kanji, and can give important hints both about yomi (readings, pronunciations) and meanings. There are books such as Foerster's "Kanji ABC" which group together kanji with similar graphemes. There are other books which give information about the history of the jouyou (general use) kanji, and which teach you about these graphemes in the process of explaining the history of individual kanji. My favorite book of this sort is Henshall's "Remembering the Kanji"; another is Heisig's similarly named series of books.November 30, 2015 at 2:29pm
- There's not really a "best way", though; different methods will work well for you or not depending on your interests and learning habits.November 30, 2015 at 2:30pm
