やっと学位をもらいました!
もし私は出来たら、皆も出来る。

Finally got my degree today, and after noticing some people taking about living in Japan, I wanted to talk about APU for a bit if that is appropriate.

After spending two years at a simple, cheap, community college, in 2013 I transferred to Ritsumeikan Asian Pacific Universty (立命館アジア太平洋大学). As an American, I received a healthy 50% scholarship, bring the total for two years to roughly $14,000 (however Japanese Yen weakened during my time, making American exchange rate more powerful.)

Students from other countries, may received scholarships ranging from 20% - 100% (If you're from Indonesia or Uzbekistan, sign up right now, I'm pretty certain tuition for you is free. Pretty damn sure at least.) Many of the students I knew received 80%

They want a 3.0 GPA upon application, however with my 2.5, I was able to squeeze in.

The island of Kyuushuu, and Beppu where the school is located is absolutely fantastic, perfect if you like the 田舎, or country side, with still a larger city a 15minute train ride away (that being Oita 大分市).

I believe anyone who is interested in going to school in Japan, this is probably your best bet. The campus is beautiful, people are nice, classes are fun, and it is a great environment to get the degree you're looking for.

This sounds like a great university! A question though: How much Japanese did you know when you were enrolled in the first year?

Tbh I only knew kana, and some basics. I started off on Genki 1 like everyone else. The only issue with the school is that because everything is 1/2 english, you can go there for 4 years and never learn any Japanese. I have a buddy who been there for three years who hasn't learned much.

It is like always getting out of it what you'd put into it, but being around it all the time certainly helps.

I've checked out the university and it's good, but it doesn't have a Computer Science undergraduate program.
