ウェディング and ウエデイング the ェand エ are both 'e' but why is it that it is smaller? Same goes with the ィand イ. And I noticed but is this only for the 'aiueo' gojuon?

I'm not sure what they're called but the little version means it is merged with the kana before to make a new sound. So from your example the ウエ a 'u' 'e' sound in two syllables, but ウェ would make a single syllable 'ue' sound (in this case it is trying to mimic the 'we' sound in 'wedding'). The デイ would sound like 'de' 'i' as two syllables, but ディ would be 'di'. It's not just aiueo, you can also do it with ya, yu and yo.
