While I was listening to Japanese radio at work today, I noticed a lot of words from JCJP used on there--many of which I hadn't noticed anywhere in actual use before. http://www.radiokishiwada.jp
One of the random words I recognised was アカデミー賞 "Academy Award" (from level 7?). I didn't actually realise what "Academy Award" meant even in English until hearing it in context in Japanese on that show, haha. I usually switch off whenever the news starts talking about celebrities and Oscars, so didn't realise it meant that. Every time I saw it on JCJP, I thought アカデミー賞 must be a status awarded to schools if they change to being independent and state-funded ones (like what are called "academy schools" here in England)... ^^;

Btw, that station airs properly between 09:00 to 01:00 (Japan time). Right now the time is 06:20 in the morning in Japan, so don't try to check it out right now as you'll only hear a load of random "world music" which they leave running overnight.
Which reminds me. I heard another interesting term on there when they were announcing the current time at midnight: "午前零時" (ごぜんれいじ).
午前 (ごぜん) = A.M.
零 (れい) = zero
時 (じ) = hour, o'clock
So 午前零時 is like saying "0 A.M." or "0 o'clock", instead of "12 A.M." or "12 o'clock". o.O
Its 1:58 AM for me and im on the webpage and I dont get what you mean by the overnight music when i load in all i hear is this "Ting!"- The "ting" sound just happens when the webpage loads. I'm not too sure what the purpose of that sound is.
To listen to the radio station what you have to do is click the big red button labelled "聴く". This opens a pop-up window with playback control buttons. It should start playing automatically though.
If the pop-up window doesn't appear, it might be because you have pop-ups blocked. So here's a link directly to the playback page, to avoid that problem and make things even simpler. ^^

閉じる (とじる) "close" - Oh. Just found out there is an Android app specifically for listening to that station. I've been using the webpage on my phone for the last few days, which wasn't ideal. This will make life easier than having to try to keep the browser window open on my phone and the tiny play/pause buttons. ^^;

- @DragonR33UA, I live in the UK. However, I went to Japan for a month in the autumn last year, which was the first time I've ever been abroad! I stayed in Ōsaka for a week, but I also stayed in Tōkyō (for over a week), Kyōto, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Kanagawa. And I visited some other prefectures briefly: Nara, Hyōgo, Yamaguchi, Fukuoka, Aichi, Yamanashi, Tochigi, Saitama, and Gunma.
I never visited the Kishiwada part of Ōsaka at all, only the city of Osaka itself (stayed at a place in Nishinari ward...). However, out of the places I actually stayed at, the one I was most fond of was Ōsaka. So I think one of the main reasons I like that radio station so much is because of the way they talk, which reminds me so much of the way people I met there spoke. Many other radio stations are quite formal in the way they talk, but this one is often very casual chatting and laughing. ^^
