I just wanted to put this out here If you guys are looking for a game that could intertwine with your japanese learning there is one that I found. Its called Osu! You've probably heard the name somewhere on the interwebs. What I found on osu is that like 50% (Just a guess at the top of my head) of the songs on there are Japanese. Oh yeah and its free! If you guys have any questions or anything about it let me know because I know about the majority of the game. Here's a gameplay of the game (https://youtu.be/oWjc5FTwjTY?t=12s) And here's the website for the game (https://osu.ppy.sh/)

The game is insanely hard to play too.
  • Kitagawa
Thanks for sharing. Gave it a download. While I don't particularly think it'll help with the Japanese, it is a lot of fun haha. Really challenging.

DON'T PLAY OSU!!! IT RUINS YOUR LIFE xD

@Razernok When i first started i couldent even click and before I got it i was like "IMMA ACE EVERY SONG THERE IS ON THE HARDEST DIFFICULTY". Just give it some time and practise and youll get there :3

@Kitagawa Osu does help me with my recalling japanese words some of the time lol but I hope you enjoy the game

@wynnlia Id does indeed but then your fingers turn into spagetti then you take a brake :3

We should make a big osu lobby and play a fiew songs. That'd be fun

Hello thank you so much for dropping the link to Osu.
I had no idea a game like this existed.
I love Japanese but the only thing that rivals that for me is my love for music.
I often listen to Japanese music, but having a game where you can try and match the beats and listen to Japanese music is let getting two birds with one stone.
So in other words I kind study for both Japanese and Music <3
    Thank you so so much

Any time fam hope you enjoy it <3 If you have any questions on it lemme know. And if you go to the beatmaps you can download songs there too if you guys did'nt know that

What is the underlining objective of the game? what's it supposed to help you do?
  • Lilgenski
@moon23 Well there's a fiew websites about what osu does to help you. It helps with you hand-eye cordination im pretty shure, reaction time and awareness. Im shure theres more but I just cant think of them. It is a really fun game once you get the feel of it

I've played Osu! from January 2016 and it's a fun game, but... :D but as for Japanese practise, it's not my recommendation. True, there are lots of vocaloid/anime songs there and if you listen to them a lot you'll pick up some words etc., but it's a rhytm game and the purpose of the game is to hit the notes of the music at the right time (btw, you can make your own beatmaps. Nice. Sometimes the beatmaps are timed wrong, it's frustrating). It's an addicting game, so @wynnlia said it already, it could ruin your life xD. It's hard at first, but when you practise and improve it feels so nice (learning new skills is fun).

When I was playing Osu! online some time ago, someone posted that Osu! newcomers should know that when you play online (connected to the Bancho-server) Osu! takes a screenshot of your pc screen every 30mins and scans your computer or something like that? I'd never think of cheating (because why? isn't this supposed to be a game for fun? where's the fun if someone cheats, right) but these things are explained to be counter measures against cheating: https://www.reddit.com/r/osugame/comments/3vyi7h/how_osu_voilates_your_privacy/. It seems to be true according to that Reddit link. I don't feel comfortable with that kind of policy, especially when it's not mentioned clearly enough in the user agreement. I play Osu! offline nowadays.

I try to download OSU for my phone before, but it din't work ><
I always want to try it O3O
  • Gojuu
From personal experience, you get more from pc version than from phone. Phone ver. wasn't that good.
  • Lilgenski
    Phone version is absolutely terrable.
  • RedStoned
Osu the easiest way to hate your favorite songs :D. It's a great game though I have been playing it for a while.
  • Nokiro92

  • Lilgenski
