I really want to work on my Kanji and beside this site (which is great) is there another site I can use as well. I want to study them by grade order but most of them are no longer working or they only go to grade 3. Any other helpful sites?

- I personally don't think you should study them by grade order since they rate them by difficulty of the meaning. Not how hard it is to write the kanji, or how hard the meaning is to remember.May 19, 2016 at 7:02am
- I recommend you get anki (srs) to import kanji if you're going to use another website instead of this. An srs is a spaced repetition system. It helps it's basically how everyone learns their first language. But this site is a srs by it's self this is what i've heard you can decide. You can do what you want to do though it's your choice good luck studying!May 19, 2016 at 7:06am
- Well personally that is not how I was learning them. It is easier for me to work through grade levels. Please keep in mind that everyone learns different. thanksMay 19, 2016 at 8:39am
- I recommend memrise.com or if you have a little bit of cash wanikani.com is well worth it. Anki is good but setting up is a pain IMOMay 19, 2016 at 9:25am
- I was on memrise years ago. I see they have wayyy new material so I might go back to that. always looking for new sites. thanks wigglysuireMay 19, 2016 at 10:48am
- I don't know if you are strong in Japanese other than maybe recognizing Kanji so I am going to post a bunch of links with different tests you can print off and hand write instead of just throwing you at a Japanese website.
1年生:They used to have an answer sheet you could download but I keep getting a 404.

For those of you that want to learn more about culture there are sets of 4 Kanji that make up lots of expressions and are very difficult to remember. I have only run into a few living here in Japan but if you use them lots of Japanese people are impressed. Here are some of those worksheets.
For this first sheet there is the 4 kanji along with how to read it. You are supposed to put the meaning of the expression in the lower box. I would recommend maybe having two of these sheets and writing the meaning in your native tongue first and then translating that into Japanese.

The rest of these sheets use those 200 expressions.

I hope people decide to use these to help them study and even learn new words. My wife, a Japanese Elementary school teacher, uses these sheets along with books supplied by the schools.
May 19, 2016 at 12:22pm - @shirokitsune wow these look great, thank you!
May 19, 2016 at 12:43pm - OMG that is beyond cool!!!! Arigatou!May 20, 2016 at 6:12am
- Now I went a head and looked up a bunch of resources for after Elementary school. This time it is a bunch of practice sheets with some tests. Problem is that there are way more Kanji practice sheets than there are test sheets. I tried to look up the word on the test sheets in the practice and I could not find any so I don't know if the tests are meant for the same numbers listed or if that was just how the site decided to label them.
Below you will find the links.

~0080_an.pdfMay 20, 2016 at 1:21pm - Well, the grades are there for the japanese kids to learn at school. It's easier for them to remember some kanji and meanings because of their age and their interests/culture at their age. Personally, I think JLPT system is really good.
But. yeah, whatever floats your boat. I don't even know your experience with language.May 20, 2016 at 5:56pm - I like the progression of the Kanji with the age levels which is why I started it that way to begin with. I do use JLPT for vocab and grammar but I couldn't remember the kanji with it, which is why I started at little kid level. so far it is working for meMay 21, 2016 at 6:04am
