You should probably start with the Kyouiku Kanji, here is a list by grade. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ky%C5%8Diku_kanji#List_by_grade
Also If you want stroke order and readings copy the kanji into jisho.org with the search modifier #kanji for example if you wanted to get the stroke orders for 学校 you would look up http://jisho.org/search/%23kanji%20%E5%AD%A6%E6%A0%A1
I just started learning about radicals too. I think this would help in understanding them.
