Reached my goal. 30 lessons done. 10K EXP. No more lessons available at the moment. First time I see no "New" items in the "TO DO" list. Though now I have 1347 "Oblivion" questions from last time I did this. There will be 900+ in a couple of days. I'll probably try this one more time when I reach level 8 (220K EXP to go) and unlock the rest.

- Good job! For a few years this site had 6 levels only. 7 and 8 were only added last year and have quite a different feel to them.
We need more people reaching level 8 meet the quota for level 9 to be added. It's likely Beeant wants 500 people to have reached level 8, and currently we're only at 391. So don't stop yet.

As for my challenge, I reached the halfway point (40wpm), then got distracted on Youtube for the last two hours... You easily beat me in the race. Definitely gotta start focussing now or I'll fail this completely. XDNovember 7, 2016 at 6:02am - OK, then my goal for tomorrow will be reaching 50 WPM with Dvorak. Like they say, "aim for the stars and shoot yourself in the foot", or something like that.November 7, 2016 at 6:50am
- I originally was going to say my goal was 40 wpm, because I knew it would be tough but safe. But I decided that wasn't much of a show of "solidarity".
So I worked out the highest I could probably achieve was 45 wpm. Bearing in mind my normal typing speed on Qwerty is only in the 60s, a layout I've used for over 20 years whereas Dvorak I've only been using for six days...
But 45 isn't really a round enough number for a target... So I had to go with a near impossible to achieve 50 wpm. XDNovember 7, 2016 at 7:15am - But, after seeing you completed those 30 lessons much quicker and easier than I was expecting, I wish I had just said 40 wpm now! I'm bad at backinp down from any challenges I set myself though, even if they are virtually impossible.
Doubt I'll be sleeping tonighe as I've only gone up +1 wpm in the last hour (41 wpm). ^^;November 7, 2016 at 7:23am - Every time I see you post more progress I get even more impressed (and fired up to try and set harder goals for myself)!! Keep up the hard work! :DNovember 7, 2016 at 9:38am
- @felivox, 6 hours later,... 4am... still stuck at 41 wpm! ><

I think the rate of me getting more and more tired is cancelling out any typing speed ability increases I'm getting. And my tiredness is now beginning to accelerate. If I continue then my speed will start heading in the opposite direction, ending up on 0 wpm eventually (when I pass out, lol).
So guess I failed this one. I'm going to aim to definitely reach 50 wpm before you complete all the level 7 and 8 lessons though. No way I'm failing that one. ^^;November 7, 2016 at 1:27pm - Yeah, I don't seem myself reaching level 8 any time soon, but I'll try to spend most of today writing with Dvorak once I'm done with a few things.November 7, 2016 at 6:14pm
- I'm interested to know how Dvorak compares to Qwerty for romaji input. I struggle a LOT just writing Japanese with Qwerty romaji input, because of how long I've been using kana input, so I don't think theres any chance whatsoever that my brain could cope with Dvorak romaji. It seems like Dvorak layout should be better for it though?November 7, 2016 at 10:10pm
- sorry for my dumb question or just me being bakabakashi but what is that oblivion thingy on our left
I never know and had no plan to know until just now since I joinedNovember 7, 2016 at 11:33pm - @devan_desu Oblivion refers to the words you've answered before and are available for review.
@mog86uk I'm using Dvorak for Japanese as well and it feels a bit better than QWERTY. Though it still takes me too long to write anything.November 8, 2016 at 1:09am
