Does anyone wish to go or has gone to japan for a reason besides love of anime and manga?
for me i enjoy anime and manga, the culture is beautiful, i love the music, great minds were made in japan and i also wish to be a english professor in japan when i graduate from university.

Well, personally I wouldn't be against moving there permanently since I hate my country and all, but at this point it would be unrealistic.
I love the culture, I would have always loved to live in Kyoto.
So you want to teach English at a university? I'm here in Japan now, teaching in elementary schools.
Yep, especially since professors get a better salary than teachers
I want to visit koshien(baseball-fan) and a good ramen restaurant
I was never an anime/manga fan, although I like Japanese video games.
When I was a kid, international cities like Tokyo looked amazing to me and it was always my dream to go there. I've also been to London and I want to explore Hong Kong one day.

I started to get interested in Japan thanks to an anime a friend showed me and now, several years after that, I find myself living and studying in Japan. I've never considered myself an otaku but I've enjoyed watching several animes, as well as I've enjoyed watching American TV shows. Anime is a door for many people to discover Japanese culture.
