    Regarding the difference between ganbare and ganbatte you mentioned, my understanding is as follows.


    Ganbatte is an abbreviation of "Ganbatte" + "Kudasai"
    Thus originally it is polite expression.
    And abbreviated "Ganbatte" has nuance of friendliness.
    Don't have to be so polite but still has close relationship with someone who you want to encourage.


    Ganbare is an imperative form of "Ganbaru".
    Therefore this sounds like stronger expression. For example, from boss to subordinate, teacher to student.

    But basically there are quite similar in meaning.
    You do not have much care about these difference in many cases.
    Both works.
