I'm not sure if this has been suggested before or if there's a reason it's not implemented (or maybe it already exists and I haven't found it?), but perhaps a fill-in-the-blank mode for studying kanji/vocab would be useful. Having the option might offer more variety in ways to study, and I find that, personally, I sometimes find myself using the multiple choice format as a crutch when I don't remember a word exactly but I know the other word options. Just an idea.
