Thanks Mog! Really didn't think I has it in me to make it back there until quite recently... I think it's quite unfair that the EXP system didn't allow you to take a further lead for all the time I've been away from the site. Definitely something that needs to change IMHO...
Back when I capped all my EXP and answers were being rewarded with a sleek and shiny 0, I had to resort to Notes to grind a lot of extra EXP so I could secure a permanent lead, that's why I still have two fresh kanji levels despite being back to rank 1, but although I kinda cheated the system to make that happen, I always felt that was a fair enough reward for the time I was putting in. I think I shouldn't have had to do it that way...

＠Medyrius, Interesting to hear a bit more about your experience. I think back then the Notes awarded more EXP? Now you only get 1 EXP per question in Notes quizzes.
I'm glad the 0 EXP days are over. I think from late-2011(?) to late-2015 questions answered over 29 correctly were capped to 0 EXP (in Practice, Lessons, Kana, Notes, and Readings). But then this was changed to the current 1 EXP. The 0 EXP days were grim, as I'd often end the day on a minus EXP from answering 1 question wrong even though I'd answered a couple of hundred other questions correctly.
The way the EXP system is now, I might as well just spam hiragana lesson 1 endlessly, as it awards the same amount of EXP as I get for a 100+ combo level 8 kanji question in Practice... Ah well. xD
I'd really like to see a less communistic EXP system, encouraging more competition. The EXP system kind of conflicts with the SRS system too. Really we'd need a lot more levels and questions for 7★ SRS rank to work with it.- Thanks @Wigglysquire, I think you're doing great already, I'm sure it won't be too long before we start seeing you in the top 5, just gotta crack in that next milly and it should be smooth sailing from there ;)
@Mog, that's right, I don't remember what the actual max was, but I think notes entries around that time were giving randomly up to 5 EXP for correct answers.
I didn't know the 0 EXP limit stayed for that long though o.O, thought it got fixed a long time ago, around the time the new version shipped in... - ☆ﾐ(o*･ω･)ﾉ
