When to start Readings

Hi guys I was wondering what level that I should start doing the readings at because right now, its just a completely wall of symbols to me.

You can start from learning hiragana & katakana here:
http://japaneseclass.jp/lesson/kana

After you are comfortable with reading them, you can start doing the readings as you can read the kana above each kanji.

ah ok, I know hiragana and katakana as is. And I know maybe 35 kanji. I was just wondering. because there doesn't seem to be very much in the way of learning grammar other than the readings, but thank you I'll will work through it.
