The British QF 6 pounder anti tank gun as used on British tanks during the middle of WW2 (firing a 6 pound AP or HE shell) . The 6 pounder initially fired an Armour Piercing Cap shot which would penetrate 75mm (30 degrees from the vertical) at 500 yards. This was increased to 131mm with the upgraded Armour Piercing Discarding Sabot shot. The improvement in ammunition allowed the gun to soldiered on in the field gun role with Airborne and Infantry units.
