Hello, I am writing this message to give you a suggestion on the jcjp website.
If it would be possible, could you implement the order of the kanji exactly as http://kanjidamage.com/kanji does?
It is basically an order that starts from the easiest kanji(few strokes) to the hardest ones with radicals.
As I've read, it uses the common kanjis used in communication, and it would be nice if people were to start it that way imo.
If not, well...use it as another menu in a subcategory for learning kanjis. :P

if you want to test yourself on that, there's a good memrise page for it; just search for memrise kanjidamage.

This is not really a site for writing kanji, so it's logical to order kanji by how easy the associated words are, rather than the radicals and strokes, right?
  • CyberZix
    @rinkuhero I didn't knew that one. :P
@kimbo I don't understand what you mean, the words are actually arranged by their difficulty in the number of their strokes, the site starts with the kanji that have a small number of strokes untill you get to the more difficult ones(wich are basically a mix of the kanji that you learned before).
So the easiest kanji are actually components to the more difficult kanji and, if learnt, they can actually help you memorise and write the more difficult kanjis a lot more better.

@kimbo I guess you missunderstood my message because of my bad explanations in the first place.
Sorry for that but my primary language isn't English, so please try to bear with me... xD

I mean, for example at number 1654 is the kanji 楽.
楽しみ, 楽しい, 音楽 are beginner level words, but it would take a long time to get down to kanji 1654. This site isn't really designed for studying 2000 kani + writings + compounds. This site uses repetitive spacing to learn, but doesn't particularly teach writings, radicals, or mnemonics.
  • CyberZix
    Yes, it's true...but it's not word-oriented, it's radical/kanji-oriented.
How to write the kanjis is not present, however their compounds are specified and there are mnemonics present(mostly being slang or yo mamma jokes)

It's not as if I want the entire kanji chapters and etc. to be replaced on japanese class, but rather include this as another order to learn them.
And since we're here, another great feature would be adding compounds and look-alikes to each word's dictionary almost like kanjidamage it's look-alikes does:

    without "it's" at the end*

I meant this website. This website focuses on vocabulary via repetition - so naturally the order is based on vocab, not strokes. Also, poor Beaant has a lot on his plate without major reconstruction to old vocab too xD The kanji section here is not so advanced, it doesn't even have 2000 kanji yet.
  • CyberZix
    Aaaah I understand now. :p
Well I wouldn't want to burden him more then, but I thought at giving it a shot for a "small" suggestion. xD
  • Kimbo
If we were to focus on vocab from the list on kanjidamage list, at kanji 8 we would already have rather complex stuff like this, http://kanjidamage.com/kanji/8-rape-

If we focused on the writings, we would end up learning associated words like RTK and not actual Japanese, which we may as well as just use RTK or something similar.

I guess it would be possible to create a section based on the easiest to draw kanji going up in difficulty, implement a drawing system, and then test you on writings with examples of usage, but that's way too much work.

And I don't think the effort would be rewarded by a second list in a different order of kanji with no real benefits. But I dunno :D
  • CyberZix
That kanji isn't difficult at all because it's formed of 3 compounds of the same previous kanji for woman.
  • CyberZix
How did the japanese had this idea to make it...I don't really know.
  • CyberZix
May I ask what is RTK? O,o
  • CyberZix
And yes! This system would work perfectly if it is the drawing section of this website. :D
  • CyberZix
I know it's a lot to work, but it can be on the priority list, even if it would be the lowest in it. :p

When Japan started trading with China a long time ago, Japan integrated kanji into their language to create a writing system. Then Jigglypuff sang a song and everyone fell asleep. When they woke up, the country was filled with annoying kanji. Damn that Jigglypuff and it's marker pen. Over centuries and centuries, the kanji was changed and not differs to it's original through bad translations and language evolution. The end!
