I have a friend who often says: じゃなくって
Any idea what she means? I heard it means nearly nothing, like an あの or えっと
? It is very frequent.

Hm...but in what context does she say it? Usually it means "that's not it".

Context, it is a "Stutter word" like, not a real term, but rather, something that someone says when thinking.

Hm, as I thought...Then, I'm pretty sure she's "talking to herself", like she thinks of something, but then she changes her mind on the last second and says "that's not it". But then again I could be wrong, so I'll wait for someone to confirm this xD

Maybe it's just some kind of fashion word... some time ago it was "cool" or可愛い to invert the syllables of words (しす for 寿司), or to add ~です at the end of a sentence... a friend of mine still likes to use あたし despite being 35 and with a 7 year old son...

This dictionary link explains なくって is just sound shift from なくて and means the same thing. I thought that was interesting to find, because I tried searching for なくって in other dictionaries and got no results.

As for じゃなくって, I don't know about that but I think beee's answer sounds very good. ^^
