  go to the top right corner of the practice square that says "settings" and click on "show kana" and save

  I definitely recommend people do that--turn off "show kana" setting.
  
  You will even be able to answer quicker eventually without the furigana. Furigana gives your eyes too much unnecessary extra stuff to look at and think about.
  
  I noticed quickly how much better I was learning after turning "show kana" off. It was a struggle at first, but now it's easier than if the furigana is left turned on cluttering up the answers. :D

  That was back on the previous version of this site, back when the "show kana" setting didn't work as well as it does now (it previously only hid the kana in the question but not for the answer choices...). When were helping beta testing this version, I made sure to keep hinting to Beeant to improve the "show kana" setting to affect both. ^^
