Just finished my 期末試験 in my Japanese class. Now, I have until Mid-April to study as I please and enjoy the country. My goal is to keep up and review on what I learned, and study for the JLPT.

The kicker, is Asaoka先生 invited the lot of us over to his house for dinner on Friday evening. This sounds really cool, and I'm going to do it, but Asaoka is a めっちゃ厳しい日本人. I've been inside Japanese homes before, but, never under such formal pretense, and I am super nervous I might accidentally make an ass of myself. Does anyone have any experience with something like this?

Good luck! It's hard to imagine you at something formal like that! :P
I'm sure you'll be fine though.

Just be as formal as possible. I lived in a Buddhist temple one summer and the family told me they felt bad because they thought i was used to more formal living spaces, based on how I acted. I went with my home-stay father to work sometimes and it is very formal, but most people are very kind and understand if you don't understand something. You'll be fine.
