Strange. I was doing Practice and messed up the highest combo I ever earnt by answering a level 5 vocabulary question wrong... Usually that means -20 EXP, but somehow I went from 69300 EXP to 69290 EXP, so -10 EXP? I thought I understood the EXP system perfectly, but I don't understand how that could have happened at all. O_O

@mog86uk Whenever I lose my 10X combo, I just do an entire level of Vocabulary or Kanji that I answered 29 or more times per entry. Once I get the 10X combo back, I go back to the levels that I answered 28 times or less per entry. Good job getting to Rank #4!

That's exactly what I've been doing for the last few months, after I realised how impossible it would be to get near Medyrius rank without doing annoying stuff like that. :P
I've actually answered 29 times correct on every Practice question now, as far as I know. Level 5 vocabulary were the only questions left which I could earn EXP on. I don't take the lesson tests until all the questions have passed 29 times correct either. I'm now doing the only lessons I've never done, level 5 vocabulary, to confirm whether I have no EXP left. Just about to do the dreaded Chapter 43! :D- I still don't understand how I lost only 10 EXP for getting that question wrong though...
I always thought, for answering a question wrong, you lose double the base EXP value of that question? Level 5 vocabulary base EXP per question = 10 EXP. So shouldn't I have lost 20 EXP? - Yep, didn't earn a single EXP doing vocabulary chapters 41-50. Can't earn any more EXP with Practice or Lessons anymore (other than kana lessons...)
@kekkou I noticed you were earning even more EXP today, 13k now? o.O - @mog86uk Two days ago, I kept encountering a lot of Readings entries that I answered at least 29 times. Yesterday, on the other hand, was much better, and I encountered a lot of new vocabularies.
It looks like I might actually catch up to you after all. ;p - @kekkou I still think you'll run out of unique vocabulary very quickly. As long as I can do a few Readings quizzes each night, I should be able to stay ahead. I don't think I'll ever be able to bring myself to do as many Readings quizzes per day as you are doing though. :D
Now that I've cleared Practice, I wish I didn't still have to click on "Settings", as I have no need to for the levels and stuff anymore. However, I still have to do it every single time to turn "show kana" off... Wish it would just remember that setting!! >.< - @mog86uk While doing the Readings quizzes, you may encounter quizzes you already completed. If this occurs, jump to the last page of the Readings and work backwards. Then, at the end of the day, work on the first page of the Readings again. Enjoy!

Anyway, I was watching 4 hours of web videos yesterday, so I only earned less than 9,000 EXPs. But I should have no problem earning 10,000+ EXPs today.
Also, there are still thousands of Readings entries I can earn points on. I am surprised the number of entries (that I answered correctly 29+ times) are a tiny percentage of the over 4,800+ entries I encountered. The most common Readings entry is 日 (900+ times). The next-closest was around 200+ times.
I also encounter new entries daily, since I frequently jump between the last pages of the Readings and today's Readings.
In the meantime, you still have the SFA game, so you'll have something to do until the next level is created ... or when pigs fly. ;) - Yeah. The notification feature doesn't seem terribly consistent and likes to decide for you that something has been read. Would be nice if it stayed unread until you manually checked it off.
Answering 日 900 times sounds like torture... I can't imagine how mind-numbingly irritating it must be to answer that each time. I've got Practice encounters which have surpassed 100-300 times correct--I thought this was bad enough!

I really wish I knew beeant better, to understand his current situation and what is currently going on with the development of this site. I know beeant is a busy guy and a year ago he left his job to have more time to work on this site, and also that he said he wanted to interact more with users of this site. But now a year later I have no idea what his situation is, so it's hard to know how to think about anything... - I also decided that once I pass 1.2 million EXPs on my test account, I will tell you after I have a 400,000+ EXP lead over your test account. :D

It worked after I had an idea a few minutes ago: "Kekkou uses Safari. Why don't I try and load his profile using Safari instead of Chrome/Firefox this time?"... So I did that and it loaded the very first time!
I thought "great", but then I thought I should check whether it might also be working right at that same moment on Firefox anyway (like maybe Beeant has changed something). So I try to load your profile in Firefox too... and it loaded first time also!!!!
It has literally been months since I've managed to load your profile page successfully. I've been trying it fairly regularly, almost every day, out of curiousity. I'm now wondering if maybe this is just something temporary, or if maybe Beeant fixed/modified something to get it to load every time?
It still takes a very long time to load your profile, just that it doesn't seem to time out now. I need to test it some more though. ^^ - 2,357 Readings (472 pages in your profile)!?
Your attendance chart is pretty impressive too. Only one gap so far this year. I started off fairly well, but lost interest a bit around mid-March... ^^; - Actually, I use Chrome on my computer to send you my JCJP profile screenshots. I only use Safari on my iPod.
Loading my JCJP profile the first time happens occasionally for me, too. It's only temporary.

Another JCJP user passed me several days ago, so I am at the top of page 4 again (all-time rankings), but I should be back on page 3 soon. - After those two successful times I mentioned above, I tried to load your profile around three more times on Firefox and two more times on Safari but it timed out every single time now. :/
Not really sure what to make of that. I did notice that it times out at 2 minutes (exactly 120 seconds) now, rather than 60 seconds. I think we talked about it changing to 2 minutes before, but I thought that was only a temporary thing.
Sadly, I didn't time the two successful attempts at loading your profile. I guess that the two times your profile loaded might have been because it took 119 seconds those times, but went over 120 every subsequent time after that?
I wouldn't have thought you've yet reached the point where your profile page takes 2 minutes to load, but I could be wrong. I think it's a lot more likely that you are now around the 90 second mark, just that the server has to go a full 90 seconds without hiccupping and losing it's concentration... - You're getting closer to the 7000 readings vocabulary mark! And also the 7mil EXP mark isn't too unrealistically far off now. Nice! ^^
- I can't figure out whether or not I'd start doing Readings again even if Beeant fixes the user profile page loading issues surrounding it. That is the main reason why I stopped doing them, but then I also remember that I wasn't keen on how the test worked.
I did enjoy reading the articles themselves, and sometimes going to the actual source and reading the full text (with a bit of dictionary help). But I just didn't enjoy the way the words get broken down and their meanings not being related at all to the article.

I think there's a thread age limit, where if someone replies a week after the thread was created then it won't alert you and instead marks the notifications as read.
I'm not sure it's actually a week. I think it might be a bit longer, but it seems to work something like that. Or maybe it only shows notifications for a certain number of replies (like the first 10 replies), but I'm fairly sure it is age.
You're very slowly getting nearer 7k readings vocabulary. I was surprised earlier when I noticed my profile says I've learnt 1,415 readings vocabulary words. I have the same notifications problem, plus I did not receive an e-mail notification even though I signed up for them under Account Settings or http://japaneseclass.jp/user/edit/subscriptions.
I have been busy with the movie screenplay and addicted to a new live broadcasting concept, called Younow (browser and app versions) where real people showcase their daily lives in real time. If you are interested, my username is briankens. - That Younow thing looks pretty interesting. I hadn't heard of it before. Now if I can just find a Japanese version of it, or just some Japanese users, that would be awesome.
I've said before that it would be really cool to watch fly-on-the-wall video of Japanese people going about their daily lives. If the people in the video were acting normal like there was no camera there, having regular conversations with friends. Something like that could be pretty helpful for people learning Japanese.

I was trying to find Japanese-speaking broadcasters. I didn't have too much trouble finding Japanese users, and some of them had videos on their page, but I didn't notice any live broadcasts taking place. Best way seems to be to just type in a random kana character and most the matches will be Japanese users. ^^
I haven't tried logging in on there yet though. Maybe this is making it harder for me to find broadcasts? It would be fun to see if I could earn that much EXP to catch up in one day while using my typing mod. I don't think I'm that bored though. I'm getting a lot more benefit out of spending more time over on Duolingo, although it is getting tough to answer some of the trickier questions now that I'm getting closer to the end. It's been so helpful for learning sentence composition, and I can use its app on my phone too. ^^
I think I'll stick to getting closer to leap frogging over kekkou in reverse with all my negative EXPs each day... xD

I learned 49 new vocabulary items in 13 days, or 4 per day. - I see you earned about 3,300 EXP in those 13 days too. So you earned EXP on just under 500 readings questions at 7 EXP each, although I have no idea how many questions you answered in total with 0 EXP ones included.
If you stayed earning EXP at that rate, you would reach 7 million around the end of August. ^^
Then you only need a bit over 330,000 EXP to catch up with Unkokun... which, I don't really want to say how long that would take, but...
3,300 * 100 = 330,000 ...
@ 3,300 EXP every 13 days
= 100 * 13 days = ... then divide by 365 for the number in years ...
;_; - Assuming there were actually enough unique readings vocabularies to ever reach 10 million EXP without ending up with every question being 0 EXP...
If you could stayed at that rate of 3,300 EXP every 13 days, then it would take almost exactly 32 years and 6 months to overtake Medyrius! o.O
Of course, I know you've often earned 3,300 a lot more than that in 13 days. If you instead earned 3,300 EXP every single day , it would take 2 years and 6 months. And if you increased this by 2.5x the amount each day (8250 EXP per day), then you would be be rank 1 this time next year. ^^
I still think it's impossible for there to be enough unique readings words in the first place though for it to work though. :/ - 11,393 EXPs will take a while, since I am re-organizing my paperwork and tossing out stuff I no longer need in my room.
Also, if you remember, I did earn over 13,000 EXPs in one day doing only the Readings, 20 Practice entries, and clearing my Oblivion list several months ago. Eventually, I will try that crazy stunt, but not right now. :D - Well, 11 days have passed, and I still cannot access my JCJP profile for @kekkou.

Yes, it has been 2 weeks, and I still cannot load my JCJP profile. :( - Wow, I have to say it is hard to believe that I'm not dreaming. This is real life? It's been so long that I don't know what to think seeing that all of a sudden.
I'm extremely curious as to what stuff is getting added. We have no idea how big or small level 7 will be. Could be another level 5 sized level, could be the smallest level yet. Could be a mammoth sized level completely eclipsing all the rest.
Could be disappointing with loads more duplicate questions on top of all the current ones. Could be a major surprise with level 7 being the tip of an iceberg of secret stuff. Could just be just a standard level much the same as the previous one.
Who knows? Exciting. :)
I hope after beeant has finished with what he's currently adding, hopefully sorting out profile loading time problems is the next thing on the list.
All that's needed is to disable the Readings and Notes history from showing on the user profile pages and everything should be fine. (Then one day, if it's even necessary, the history could be shown again once better method of showing it with no loading problems has been found.) ^^ - It appears that there will be 100 new kanji added in level 7--ten kanji for each level (same as in level 6).
I was hoping to find out more info than that, like specifically which kanji are being added, but I don't think I'm able to. I haven't found the vocabulary totals for level 7 yet either.
I'm just slightly concerned that we might have a similar problem to the level 5 kanji lessons...
There's 83 duplicate kanji taught in the kanji lessons at the moment. All 83 of these duplicates are in level 5! These 83 kanji were already taught in previous level kanji lessosn (lv.2-4). This is why if you add all kanji lesson totals up it looks like there should be 699 kanji, but I stated in my forum post a long time ago that there are 615 unique kanji in the lessons.
(699 - 83 = 616, but one of the items is not actually a kanji -- 々)
Also, only 614 of these 615 kanji are actually taught in the lessons. Remember the question I gave you a few weeks ago? No one figured out the answer... The answer for the 1 kanji that is taught but not used in any lessons is... *drum roll*... 暦 (kanji chapter 30).
Level 6 doesn't teach any duplicate kanji (although, like all the levels, it does have duplicate questions), so hopefully level 7 will be fine. Hopefully just worrying over nothing. ^^; - Hmm, my thread I was referring to is a few pages back in the forums now.
