You're currently on -25 EXP? At least I won't be in last place on the daily rankings if I do… - Feed Post from mog86uk to beeant
You're currently on -25 EXP? At least I won't be in last place on the daily rankings if I do decide to answer more questions and end up answering a question wrong, since the worst that could happen is answering a level 6 kanji question wrong and getting -24 exp... I would still be 1 exp higher than you. :P

- Strange. The online users list says you have -25 EXP, however the rankings table says you have -19 EXP even if I hard refresh the page. Guess it's too risky for me to answer any more questions...
Then again, someone else has -56 EXP (letting the UK team down...haha j/k) so I guess I still wouldn't be last. :DApril 4, 2015 at 1:53pm - It's so weird to see you that low now mog ><April 4, 2015 at 3:00pm
- @mog86uk, the ranking on the front-page is cached to reduce server loads, so sometimes you need to refresh several times to update it. Have you checked on this? is everything ok? I didn't change anything on the server side codes, so it should be ok, or at least nothing has change since the last time I changed the server side codes.April 4, 2015 at 9:45pm
- The day has changed now. However...
・Your EXP in the online users list today right now says 10 EXP (on my screen).
・I checked the rankings page for "today" and there are 17 users on the list, but you are not on the list.
・I went on your profile and on the right side of the screen under your total EXP ("EXP 486469 / 170000") it doesn't say you've earnt any EXP.
・I checked your "EXP Earnings" graph and hovered over "today" ( Sunday 5th April), and it says "0 EXP".
I refreshed each page several times and nothing changed. 10 EXP on online users list; 0 EXP everywhere else.
I then cleared my cache and restarted Chrome. Everything is still the same.
Very strange, eh? I haven't noticed this problem before, even though I check the rankings page quite often. Usually I need to refresh the page once and it updates the rankings, showing the correct data.April 5, 2015 at 12:53am - Also checked the "All-Time" rankings page and looked for you (rank 153). Again it doesn't say you've earned any EXP today (no green up arrow with 10 EXP next to it).
Also, I originally using Firefox when I encountered this problem last night. I've tested this on both Firefox and Chrome now though, and it's behaving exactly the same.April 5, 2015 at 12:58am - Thank you for your report. >.< I will check on that, right now I'm working on one feature for JapaneseClass.April 5, 2015 at 10:24pm
- Ooh. Is this a new feature/content you are working on, or improving/fixing an existing one? It's nice and reassuring to hear news about the site being worked on either way. ^^April 6, 2015 at 7:46am
- Ah! I noticed something that's changed. All that "data-reactid" stuff?
I thought something was different last night, because my mod was no longer automatically hiding kana in the answer choices list.
Looks like you're exploring something interesting, although I don't really have much idea what yet. :)April 6, 2015 at 11:17am - Also notice you've fixed the layout discrepancy between the display of "New" encounter and repeat encounter Practice questions?
This fix has affected my typing mod too, but it is cool to see another thing has been sorted out. ^^April 6, 2015 at 2:11pm - Yes, in order to work on the new feature I need to make some changes on the practice/quiz codes. So I'm proceeding on developing the new feature. actually I would really like to discuss this with you and kekkou, and some other users of course. I wonder if we can meet somewhere online for a chat.
I'm really sorry that your mod is no longer working. I'm grateful that you create such mod :). I hope you can figure out some way to get it working again. You need an answer by typing feature? I think I can implement that.
I didn't do anything to the Latest encounter section, but I did some changes on the online user list in practice and chat. It should be faster and less buggy now. The practice/quiz should be faster and lighter for your computer CPU and memory too.April 6, 2015 at 11:30pm - I noticed the online user list seemed to be running a bit smoother already. I thought I could just have been imagining that it had been changed.
As for my mod not working--that's definitely not something you should have to appologise for! I've already fixed it anyway, and thanks to the new way the Practice questions load I've been able to make my mod work better than before. ^^
In my last post I meant that the [ul.answer-choices] element has been moved. Previously, for "New" question encounters [ul.answer-choices] was placed directly after [div.question], and for non-"New" questions it was strangely placed inside the [div#stats] element. So its location varied depending on whether the question was marked "New" or not.
It would be cool to have a discussion somewhere, like on Trello. However I think it might be difficult to arrange a chat session where everyone is online at the same time, due to our different timezones. If there are no big secrets that you want to keep as a surprise, maybe could just do the discussion on JCJP itself? maybe just continue posting in this feed? Unless you have any ideas of somewhere better. :)April 7, 2015 at 12:06am - "new feature" ohhhhhhh :3April 7, 2015 at 5:11pm
- @beeant It's cool that you mentioned the possibility of implementing an answer by typing feature for Practice. I don't personally need an official version of this, since my mod is now working fine. It would be cool still, but I don't think the demand is very high for this particular feature.
However, I've been meaning to send you a copy of my mod. So far I've only emailed it to two users--Koukyoshi and DS25. I'm only sending it to users who have been using the site a long time and may be looking for the extra challenge. I've been hesitant to allow it to be uploaded anywhere, where any random user could decide to download it, as I didn't know what your thoughts were on the mod.
I don't know if you still check the site's email address, [email protected]? I need to send this updated improved version of my mod to Koukyoshi and DS25 anyway, so I could forward a copy to the site's email too. Is this okay?
@MintyHippo I definitely saw beeant use those words "new feature" too! Exciting times. ^_^
If you want a kind of new feature to play around with in the meantime, I can send you a copy of my mod? Here's the post where I showed it off before:

If you would like I could send a copy of the mod to you too? Can just make a temporary dummy email address for it to be sent to. :)April 8, 2015 at 11:25am - @mog86uk, I'm thinking to separate the front end codes with server side codes, so that I can share the front-end codes with you. With that, you can directly make changes to JCJP codes if you want :). But this might takes some time.
yes, I actually saw your codes, it's pretty cool! :D
@mog86uk, @MintyHippo, I want to discuss this actually. Maybe I need to make a private message/chat feature in JCJP.April 8, 2015 at 12:15pm - I would be interested in that. Browser developer tools are very powerful these days, and I can already do a lot with that, but obviously the changes I make only help myself and noone else.
Also, having a private chat feature would be very handy for being able to have that discussion you mentioned earlier.
I added the site's email address to the email I sent to Koukyoshi and DS25. The userscript code is in the attached .js file, or should be able to copy-paste the identical copy of the code I posted within the email, but maybe better to use the attachment.
If you feel like quickly checking out my mod some time, the best environment for it is to use Firefox with the "Greasemonkey" extension. I also use it on Chrome with the "Tampermonkey" extension, but the only difference is that Chrome cannot make use of the Auto IME on/off toggling CSS rule that my mod uses.
Any browser with any userscript extension should be fine to use though. ^^April 8, 2015 at 12:34pm
