- Also, the chat messages are duplicating themselves.May 6, 2015 at 5:39am
- The automatic duplication issue is fixed, but the previous messages are still missing.May 6, 2015 at 5:54am
- Also, unread notifications are not displaying at all. The right side of the page only shows "Unread" and "Read", so it is not a Friend request.May 6, 2015 at 6:01am
- The automatic duplication issue returned to chat.May 6, 2015 at 6:37am
- Strange that unread messages thing. Said I had 7 notifications when I logged on, clicked the notifications icon and there were only 2 things in the list. After reading those two messages, I refreshed the page and there are still 5 invisible things left?
The chat issue returning doesn't surprise me, as Beeant hasn't said he's fixed it yet. He just removes the problem that stops the old chat messages from showing (and that makes it harder to post new messages). Whatever causes the problem in the first place has never been addressed.May 6, 2015 at 11:39pm - @beeant was up at 5 am (Wednesday, Japan Time), so it is at least 18 hours since the chat and notifications issues began. He is probably asleep now, so we will see if he can figure out the cause.May 7, 2015 at 1:05am
- I think I've figured out what the notifications are, but I'm not 100% sure.
I just left a cryptic message about it in a reply to this more recent post about the invisible notifications problem:
http://japaneseclass.jp/feeds/comment/6461
I wonder if you can figure out what I'm getting at too?
Does your washoku account also have the problem? or just kekkou? My theory might break if washoku has it too. Should only be kekkou which has this problem, unless I'm completely wrong about this. :P
It might mean nothing, even if I'm correct about what they're from, but I'm very interested in this now! ^^May 7, 2015 at 10:37am - Ooh. I just came across something which shows exactly what those invisible notifications represent. Turns out my theory was correct!
Still, keeping it hush hush just in case this is linked to something important. ^^May 7, 2015 at 12:05pm - Sorry @mog86uk. The notifications issue affected BOTH my regular AND test accounts. :) I think it is getting better, even though most of my new messages are being automatically marked as unread.May 7, 2015 at 12:51pm
- Odd. Well, I found out what my 5 notifications are, and it should be impossible for Washoku to have the type of notifications I have. I wonder what Washoku's invisible ones are for then? o.O
Aren't new messages meant to be marked as unread? I don't get what you mean? O.oMay 7, 2015 at 1:41pm - Wait... Washoku's profile actually shows it would be able to have the same type of invisible notifications that I have. So it probably is the same thing for washoku after all.
Not quite sure how that's possible for washoku though, since I thought you made that account after this current version of JCJP was released? There must have been a period on this new current version of JCJP where you could still send it, even though it had been removed...May 7, 2015 at 1:48pm - If I have a red notifications icon, and I open http://japaneseclass.jp/user/notifications/unreads at the beginning of the day, only one message stays unread and the rest automatically move to http://japaneseclass.jp/user/notifications/reads. Not sure I can explain it better. :(
Check "your" test account to see if the same problem occurs.May 7, 2015 at 2:00pm - I just checked my test accounts and neither of them have any invisible unread notifications.
However, neither of my test accounts have the thing in their profile page which would indicate that they are able to be affected by this problem. Washoku DOES have it on his profile page...
One of my test accounts was only made two weeks after Washoku. Did you make Washoku just before this version of JCJP was released? (although I think "24th April 2014" is after)
Have you figured out what thing I'm talking about yet, by the way? I'm wondering if this is actually the thing which Beeant is working on. If it is, it's probably meant to be a surprise, so trying not to make it too obvious... Might not be this at all, just something else he's working on which accidentally triggered this... :DMay 7, 2015 at 2:18pm - "11th April 2014" *
No idea where I got 24th from. Still think this new version of JCJP was released before this, but I can't remember the exact date.May 7, 2015 at 2:20pm - Since new accounts (in the beta version) were auto deleted when this current version went live, washoku was created after this JCJP version went live.
I could not figure it out.May 7, 2015 at 2:27pm - The beta accounts were deleted, but you could still have created washoku on the previous version of JCJP before the new version went live. I have a hard time remembering the first couple of days of this version going live.

If you check out this interesting forum thread which I and both your accounts posted in, the thread was created on the old version just before the new version was released. What you typed from washoku makes it sound like it was 15th April 2015 that this version was released. So you might have made it a few days before? (on the 11th?)
Hmm. I was worried I was making my cryptic challenge TOO easy. Probably for the best if this does turn out to be the new top secret thing Beeant is currently working on that nobody else figures it out anyway... From the hints I gave it shouldn't have been that hard to work out though. ^^May 7, 2015 at 2:46pm - 15th April 2014 *
Also, I think the JCJP facebook page says the same date for when this version was released.
It still seems wierd even if washoku was created 4 days earlier, on the old version, that washoku would have received this type of notification in that short space of time. Maybe you sent it from kekkou to washoku, but it doesn't look like washoku accepted... (I've got to stop dropping hints about this, making it too easy to figure out now...)
Any accounts made after the old version ended shouldn't be able to recieve these notifications, unless I'm not remembering the early days of this current version very well.May 7, 2015 at 2:52pm
