    i dont think so. unless its just some weird slang or a way how they speak. your asking if.they have recently been pulled to a trap? lol. i guess a more straight forward way to ask would be 最近何をしましたか?

    罠 (わな) "trap"?
    押す (おす) "push"...

    "Have you been pushing (something/someone) into a trap recently?" is how I read that sentence!! ;D

    I can see what you were trying to write though. What made your sentence so wrong was typing W A instead of H A for は (wa), and also typing O instead of W O for を (o).

    Things like this is why I REALLY despise romaji keyboard layout input. With kana layout input you would not have made those two mistakes.

    You don't need the は (wa) particle after 最近 though; your sentence is more likely to make more sense without it.

    Also, because you are asking what someone "has been" doing, you probably need past tense "ました" instead of "ます".

    最近何をしていますか?
    saikin nani o shite imashita ka?

    Typed using romaji layout input as:
    saikin' nani wo site imasita ka?

    Typed on an English 'qwerty' keyboard using kana layout input as:
    xegy ui ) dw ejdq t?

    But ignore my rants about romaji layout input, because romaji input is apparently what almost everyone uses even in Japan... ^^;

    Oops, I typed ます instead of ました (even thought I wrote the romaji underneath as "mashita".) :S

    It was meant to say:

    最近何をしていましたか?

    That's why I want a Japanese keyboard for my laptop so then I can learn the actual way to type ;-; but they're so expensive

    @Xiffy, The majority of Japanese people still use romaji layout to input Japanese characters, even though the keys on their keyboards have the hiragana printed alongside the alphabet letters.

    (Here's a nice looking Japanese keypad for laptops)

    However, you definitely don't need an actual Japanese keyboard to type using kana layout.

    If you are using Microsoft IME to type Japanese, just click the "KANA" button on the taskbar language bar to switch to kana layout input. If you are using Google Japanese Input, you have to go into its settings to change it to kana layout input, like I've posted about before--here:

    I have a normal UK English 102 key 'qwerty' keyboard and I always type Japanese on it using kana layout, even though the keys don't have the hiragana printed on them.

    Some people with non-Japanese keyboards just make hiragana stickers for their keys. Or you can buy ready made sets on amazon or wherever--just search "hiragana keyboard stickers" or something. But I've never put any stickers on my keyboard. When you're touch typing it doesn't even matter if all the keys are blank, because you shouldn't ever be looking at the keyboard anyway.

    Obviously, you still need to actually learn the layout in the first place before you can touch type it. The stickers would be very helpful for this. I personally learnt kana layout just randomly out of curiosity. To learn it I used the "Kana Touchtyping" subgame mode on the Japanese learning game "Slime Forest Adventure". http://lrnj.com

    But remember, kana layout apparently isn't that commonly used at all even by Japanese people. I don't think it suits everyone, especially since the keys are more spread out compared to romaji layout. I hadn't planned to switch to kana layout, but after learning it I came to prefer it eventually. ^^;

    Ahhh thanks, I pretty much mastered typing the romaji way hahaha but I did once get stuck on the traditional keyboard setting and I didn't know what key did what, I ordered some stickers from like eBay because the other sites I checked were crap, and the stickers made the keys look horrible. Yeah I think it would be quite beneficial to learn anyways. I'm always up for learning something new ٩ʕ•͡וʔ۶
