Oblivion = any question in the Lessons (same questions as Practice uses) which hasn't been answered in the last 30 days (either answered correctly or incorrectly, as long as you've answered it within that time).
You don't even need to answer the question correctly to remove it from the Oblivion list either, just has to be answered one way or the other within the last 30 days.
Words in the Oblivion list are removed immediately when you answer them. You can answer them in Practice, in the Tests within the Lessons, or in the Quiz feature on the Oblivion page; it doesn't make a difference which way.
Words only get added to the Oblivion list when a new day starts on the site (Japan midnight). Any words not answered for between 30 days 0 hours 0 minutes 0 seconds to 30 days 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds get added at that time.
That's all there is to it. Nothing gets permanently removed.
I've answered every one of the 3,209 questions between 33 times to over 410 times. If I was to take a break from JCJP for 30 days, the number of items in my Oblivion list would be 3,209 still.
Some spaced repetition softwares increase the interval between encounters more and more each time you get it correct, but JCJP oblivion stays at 30 days regardless of whether it's your first time answering that question or thousandth time.
I may have got some of that info slightly wrong, but as far as I know what I wrote are the exact details of how JCJP Oblivion works. I need to stop going overkill when answering people's questions...
Short answer to your question: "No." ^^
